PIERRE PULLIS (1870-circa 1935)
A selection of approximately 37 subway construction photographs by the chief photographer for New York City's Rapid Transit R.R. Commission. The series documents subway construction, including subway cars, laborers, and construction sites above and below ground, including lines being constructed near Union Square, Columbus Circle, lower Manhattan, and Central Park. Silver prints, the images measuring 7 1/2x9 1/2 inches (19.1x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, a few sheets slightly larger, the mounts 11x14 inches (27.9x35.6 cm.), about 20 with an inventory number, address or location, and date in the negative and about 16 with a caption in pencil on mount recto (the final print with both). 1901-02
