Etching and drypoint printed in dark brownish black on cream laid paper, 1887. 125x173 mm; 4 7/8x6 7/8 inches, full margins. MacDonald's second state (of 5). Signed with the butterfly and inscribed "imp." in pencil on the tab, lower left. A superb impression of this very scarce, early proof.

MacDonald notes only 10 known impressions in all five states combined.
