  • Notes: "After Mazatlán" is one image in a series of stills taken from a collaborative video art piece by Isaac Julien (1960- ) and chorographer Javier de Frutos (1963- ). The project titled The Long Road to Mazatlán chronicles two men as they sightsee around a western fantasy, cowboy-eccentric version of San Antonio, Texas. As the narrative unfolds, many foreign motifs enter landscape including iconography that alludes to homoerotic desire.
