(CHRISTO)
An archive with 17 photographs, most documenting Christo's 5600 Cubic Meter Package, Kassel, plus 2 by Shunk/Kender.
After several unsuccessful attempts, Christo and Jeanne-Claude created the largest ever inflated structure without an interior skeleton (1967-68). A pair of giant cranes helped to elevate the inflated air package to its eventual vertical position. These photographs are by Klaus Baum (12) and Thomas Cugini (3). Also includes a photograph for the plans for Christo's first wrapped building in the United States: "Wrapped Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago" and another documenting the companion piece "Wrapped Floor and Stairway," 1968-69 by Shunk-Kender (Harry Shunk and Janos Kender). Silver prints, the images measuring 10 5/8x7 1/4 inches (27x18.4 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, the sheets slightly larger, all but one of the images by Baum with a photocopied handwritten caption label with all of the technical details, 6 with photographers' stamps (2 with Baum's stamp, 3 with Cugini's, and one with the Shunk-Kender stamp), 8 with Baum's credit in pencil, one with Shunk-Kender's credit in pencil, others with additional notations and caption information also in pencil, all on verso. 1967-69

WITH--A transparency for one of the Baum photographs documenting Christo's 5600 Cubic Meter Package in Kassel, taped to a sheet with a photocopied handwritten label.
