  • Notes: Carroll Sargent Tyson Jr. specialized in bird and landscape paintings and exhibited widely in the United States and London. He was a cousin of John Singer Sargent and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from 1896 to 1899. He continued to exhibit at the Academy throughout his long career. In 1900 he studied in Paris and befriended Claude Monet, Earl Horter, and John Marin.
